How can
we help?
we help?
Across the UK, and across key specialist areas, our solicitors are here to help.
A bit about us
Lawstop is a firm driven by social justice. Every day, we represent ordinary people who are not being treated fairly or lawfully. It might be a problem with an irresponsible landlord or housing trust. Or a council or education authority failing in their duty to meet special needs. Or presenting the strongest case at an asylum hearing on behalf of a client fearing for their life.
Established in 2018, Lawstop brings together a group of lawyers with years of combined legal expertise. Our skills and experience have helped thousands of people to receive the protection, services and opportunities that the law demands. In the majority of cases, our fees are paid by Legal Aid, but we also represent self-pay clients who need effective legal help at a reasonable cost.
We have offices in Hammersmith and Barnes in London, as well as Cambridge, Brighton, Somerset and Cornwall. We can also see clients all over the country, including in Manchester, Leicester and Bristol.
We invest significantly in the skills of our teams, with continual development programmes to keep our lawyers up to speed with the ever-changing landscape of legislation. They are also supported by excellent working environments and technology, and work in a personal and nimble culture.
Diversity & Equality
Diversity is the right way to create any organisation. In our case, it’s also essential so that we can properly reflect the communities and citizens we serve. Lawstop is therefore a proud mix of ages, ethnic backgrounds, genders and life experiences. We offer equal opportunities regardless of race, origin, sexuality, age or disability. We’re also unstuffy, human and probably not what you imagine a ‘typical lawyer’ to be…
How we work with you
1
We arrange a meeting with you, in person or online, to understand your issue and the outcome you’re looking for. If applicable, we’ll ask for certain documents to see if you qualify for Legal Aid.
2
If you are eligible, we send you our Client Authority and legal help forms to sign. Alternatively, you can pay Lawstop directly.
3
We assign a legal professional to run your case. He or she advice,
take your instructions and explain the next steps and what to expect.

4
The legal steps we recommend are aimed at achieving the right outcome from the body you are challenging. If we need to take further steps,
this may include instructing
a barrister.
